A pipeline directional drilling company needed to generate consistently formatted daily progress reports for its drilling operations as well as extract reporting and progressing data to ensure consistency and minimum required data to be entered by all its field technicians. In addition, the customers of our client required near realtime progress reports based on estimates and actuals, costs and material used for the job. Prior to our digital solution, all reporting and data collection was done with Microsoft Excel, PDF and email.

Solution

Using the experience from past projects that involved pdf form management, we were able to create a secure file browser, and pdf forms module that executed complex built in acrojs logic. This information was then uploaded to the cloud to generate realtime progress and costing graphs. The app is internally distributed on both iPads and iPhones. The client is able to use the large database of PDF forms with calculations/formulas, images, signatures and other components to progress their work on a daily basis.
